What Dr. Jeanne Says
Children love music. It’s a natural part of their life and an outgrowth of the joy inside their hearts. They use music all day long as a natural accompaniment to their play.
Making music is their natural, creative way of life. It’s how they get to know the world. Wherever you go, children are singing, either familiar songs or songs they are making up. Even their talk is melodic, in musical-type patterns. In the hands of a child, anything can serve as a rhythm instrument tapping out the rhythms of their young lives. They use music to explore and entertain themselves. This process starts early and blossoms with specific exposure to music instruction.
